A Fuller Theological Seminary graduate, Nancy Terada Wong served at a church for ten years before taking a 15-year leave of absence to be a full time mom, homeschooling her three children and coaching several youth basketball teams. Since 2001, she has served at Anaheim Free Methodist Church, currently as Senior Pastor. One of Nancy’s passions is “coaching” others in finding their calling, gifting, purpose, and mission as a vital member of God’s team. Her favorite pastimes include tennis with her husband Andy, fishing, spending time with her adult children and granddaughters, strolling on the beach, reading, theatre, and watching inspiring true-life movies.
Kevin Wong also graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters in Youth, Family, and Culture. He began pursuing his call into full-time ministry while working with youth, most notably while serving as the Youth Director/Youth Pastor at Westlight Community Church for 8 years. Kevin has a great passion for leadership development and raising up the next generation of leaders. In his free time, he enjoys anything that is sports-related (especially Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, and UCLA), getting to know people on a deeper level, and watching current movies and TV shows.
Matthew Asami joined the pastoral staff at AFMC in September, 2015 after earning his MDiv degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in June. From 2010 – 2014 he served as the Sports Director for JEMS (Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society) and as the Youth Pastor at Orange Coast FMC. Matt is passionate about people: he feels called and gifted to serve God’s children, spanning all ages and ethnicities. He finds there is nothing more rewarding than seeing people draw closer to God. On a personal note, Matt confesses that he “bleeds purple, gold, and Dodger Blue”. He also loves playing and watching sports, and occasionally makes a winter trip to go snowboarding. He is “not a picky eater” and his tastes change with the season.
